Publikace přibližuje osud olomouckých Němců
Novou publikaci pod názvem "Olomoučtí Němci po druhé světové válce" představil v červnu při setkání členů Vlasteneckého svazu pro Olomouc a střední Moravu v partnerském městě Nördlingenu její autor prof. František Mezihorák a následně ji pokřtil spolu se současným primátorem Martinem Novotným a jeho předchůdci na zasedání Zastupitelstva města Olomouce v pondělí 23. června.
Popularizačně pojatá publikace chce být dalším dílčím příspěvkem k usmíření obou národů cestou pravdivějšího poznání historie. V pořadí už 20. setkání členů Vlasteneckého svazu pro Olomouc a střední Moravu se uskutečnilo v bavorském Nördlingenu v polovině června za účasti také oficiální delegace z Olomouce, kterou tvořili náměstek primátora Vladimír Pokorný, bývalý primátor města Milan Hořínek a profesor Univerzity Palackého František Mezihorák. Ti se zúčastnili nejen setkání olomouckých Němců, kteří museli Československo opustit po druhé světové válce, ale při té příležitosti jednali také na místní radnici se starostou Hermannem Faulem o dalších podobách spolupráce mezi oběma městy.
Kontakty mezi Olomoucí a Nördlingenem byly navázány již brzy po sametové revoluci a spolupráce funguje v několika oblastech, jako jsou pravidelné výměny studentů Hospodářské školy a Obchodní akademie Olomouc, vzájemné výměnné výstavy výtvarníků a hudebních formací, prezentace obou měst na výstavách apod. Starosta Hermann Faul informoval, že nedávno nově zvolená Rada města Nördlingenu se proto koncem letošního května jednohlasně vyslovila k podepsání oficiální smlouvy o partnerství mezi našimi městy. Ke stejnému závěru dospělo i Zastupitelstvo města Olomouce na svém zasedání 23. června.
