Korejci mapují možnosti Olomouce
Do Olomouce přijel v pondělí 17. prosince velvyslanec Korejské republiky v ČR Seong Yong Cho. Při jednáních s rektorem Univerzity Palackého prof. RNDr. Lubomírem Dvořákem, CSc. a primátorem města Martinem Novotným se zajímal mimo jiné o možnost zřízení studia korejštiny na olomoucké univerzitě.
Korejský ambasador připomněl, že v České republice už působí asi dvacítka korejských firem a očekává se příchod dalších. V únoru 2009 pak má být na Ostravsku naplno spuštěna výroba v automobilce Hyundai, kde má být zaměstnáno na pět tisíc lidí, a roste proto zájem o osoby, které by dokázaly komunikovat také v korejštině. Primátor Martin Novotný doplnil, že vedle vytvoření předpokladů pro efektivní komunikaci uvnitř firmy by mělo jít zároveň o pochopení kultury, mentality a tradic této asijské země, a proto je myšlence zřízení studia korejštiny na Palackého univerzitě nakloněn. Korejského velvyslance Seong Yong Cho dále primátor seznámil s bohatou historií města a památkami, ale také s kulturním děním a hospodářskou současností. Korejci se dále zajímali o školská zařízení umožňující výuku v angličtině, o což by měly zájem rodiny korejských manažerů podobně jako před lety v případě příchodu firmy Philips do Hranic na Přerovsku.
Protože do Česka přijíždí ročně okolo 10 tisíc korejských turistů, využil primátor návštěvy velvyslance zároveň k pozvánce Korejců do historické, ale přitom oproti Praze klidnější Olomouce.
