Ojedinělá výstava ve vlaku také v Olomouci
Od středy 18. května do neděle 22. května se představí olomoucké veřejnosti na 5. nástupišti hlavního nádraží výstava světového fotografa Sebastiaa Salgada pod názvem WORKERS.
Výstava instalovaná ve čtyřech vlakových vagonech v prostoru napravo od nádražní budovy, kam je přístup také z ulice, bude otevřena denně od 10 do 20 hodin. Olomouc bude v pořadí třetí zastávkou na cestě putovní výstavy po České republice.
Tento ojedinělý výstavní počin připravila pražská Leica galerie ve spolupráci s Českými drahami. Výstavní expozice je instalována do tří poštovních vagónu a porušuje tak výlučnost kamenných galerií. Vlak ji doveze přímo za lidmi na nádraží 11 měst. Putování vlaku potrvá od 2. května do 24. července 2005. Nádražní nástupiště se stanou neobvyklými a snad o to vyhledávanějšími galeriemi, které promění mnohdy tak neosobně vnímané prostory uspěchaného nádraží.
Výstavní expozice nabídne české veřejnosti nejuznávanější projekt jednoho z nejlepších světových fotografů - Sebastiaa Salgada - Workers. Salgadovou doménou je tzv. humanistický dokument. Bývalý člen agentury Magnum zpracovává ve své vlastní agentuře Amazonas Images dlouhodobé sociologicky orientované projekty - tento vznikal po dobu šesti let ve dvaceti sedmi zemích světa a Salgado v něm neopakovatelným způsobem zachytil pomalu mizejicí svět manuální práce. Jeho vysoce estetické zobrazení vyznívá v oslavný epos o lidech, kteří odevzdaně nesou svůj úděl, aniž by ztráceli hrdost a naději, je to výpověď o lidské důstojnosti. Jeho fotografie jsou svou neobyčejnou pravdivostí široce srozumitelné, každá je neokázale zobrazeným příběhem. Všechny fotografi mají jedno společné - zachycují odcházející éru, vypovídají o proměnách světa konce 20. století.
Multikulturní centrum Praha připravilo k výstavě také doprovodný program rozvíjející základní téma expozice: celosvětové proměny pracovního trhu na konci XX.soletí a jejich lidské rozměry, a to ve formě veřejných debat, panelových diskuzí a interaktivních projektů. V Olomouci ve videokavárně hlavního nádraží proběhne ve středu 18. května od 18 hodin veřejná diskuse nazvaná "Zlatý ukrajinský ručičky" s podtitulem "Jak nás ovlivňují změny na trhu práce".
Realizace velkých výstavních projektů touto mobilní formou je vyústěním programové koncepce galerie, která doufá, že se jí podaří založit tradici každoročně se opakujících výstav ve vlaku. Už tuto Salgadovu výstavu chce vyvézt v podzimních měsících na Slovensko, jedná rovněž o možnosti prodloužit trasu putování až do Vídně. Proto si galerie cení možnosti spolupracovat s Českými drahami a doufá, že výstava vzniklá z tohoto zdánlivě neobvyklého spojení si získá své publikum, které zde najde nejen vysoce estetické fotografie, ale také nový způsob prezentace umění. Výstava se koná pod záštitou ministra dopravy.

Leica Gallery Prague o.p.s. je fotografickou galerií s široce pojatou koncepcí, její výstavní program je postaven na prezentaci toho nejlepšího, co světová fotografická scéna nabízí. Galerii se podařilo obohatit nabídku Prahy jako kulturní metropole, Praha se stala samozřejmou zastávkou na turné výstav nejvýznamnějších světových tvůrců. Jako obecně prospěšná společnost se galerie svým programem dotýká závažných společenských témat a skrze kulturní prožitky pomáhá lidem (a to nejen v Praze) v orientaci v současném světě.
Za poměrně krátkou dobu si galerie získala renomé a respekt doma i v zahraničí, programová nabídka má kladný ohlas u odborné i laické veřejnosti a v roce 2003 byla Leica Gallery Prague nejnavštěvovanější českou galerií (125 000 návštěvníků). V programové nabídce galerie byli představeni např. Mary Ellen Mark, Anton Corbijn, Edward Steichen, Helmut Newton (jeho výstava Work konaná na konci roku 2003 měla rekordní návštěvnost, vidělo ji 68 000 lidí a byla z tohoto pohledu nejnavštěvovanější výstavou roku 2003).
Galerie funguje jako nezisková organizace financovaná z vlastních příjmů, grantů a sponzorských darů a byla uváděna jako příklad toho jak úspěšně skloubit umělecké a ekonomické aspekty při zachování náročných uměleckých kritérií.
Galerie hledá stále nové nevyšlapané cesty jak uvádět výstavy tak, aby jejich vyznění bylo co nejúčinnější a oslovily v co nejširším měřítku ty, jimž jsou určeny. Do svého výstavního programu na rok 2005 galerie zařadila ojedinělý projekt jednoho z nejlepších světových fotografů Sebastiaa Salgada Workers. Je to již druhý Salgadův projekt, který galerie uvádí, poprvé to byla v roce 2001 v Mánesu výstava Exodus, kterou česká veřejnost nadšeně přijala.

České dráhy, a.s. dlouhodobě podporují nejen kulturní, ale i sportovní a humanitární projekty. Během uplynulého roku například zajistily přepravu hokejistů mezi Ostravou a Prahou v rámci MS v hokeji v ČR. Letos ČD zabezpečily Andělský vlak pro umělce, hosty a diváky na vyhlášení cen Anděl. Z kulturních projektů mimo výstavy fotografií podporují i dětská filmová představení v pojízdném kině na kolejích. Úzká spolupráce byla také navázána s Nadací Plaváček, která podporuje nadané děti z dětských domovů. Mezi významné humanitární akce náleží sbírka pro dětské domovy Vlak štěstí a naděje nebo vlaky pro handicapované děti pod názvem Vlaky dobré vůle. Na den dětí již každoročně ČD vypravují pro děti z dětských domovů do Zlína Vlak plný úsměvů.
