Síť informačních center Europe Direct
Prvního května 2005 ve všech 25 členských státech Evropské unie zahájila svoji činnost informační síť EUROPE DIRECT.
Jedná se o projekt Generálního ředitelství pro tisk a informace Evropské komise na období 1. 5.2005 - 31. 12.2008, jehož partnerem v České republice je Ministerstvo zahraničních věcí ČR. Na základě grantového řízení, zahájeného 28. 2. 2005, vzešlo 7 center EUROPE DIRECT v Brně, Českých Budějovicích, Hradci Králové, Liberci, Olomouci, Pardubicích a Táboře.
Informační centra EUROPE DIRECT jsou spolufinancována z prostředků Evropské komise a budou každoročně čerpat max. 107.545 EUR v rámci České republiky. Jejich úkolem je poskytovat nejširší veřejnosti informace o legislativě, politikách, programech, projektech a možnostech financování v ČR i v EU.
Regionální evropské informační středisko pro Olomoucký kraj je od 1. 5. 2005 přejmenováno na EUROPE DIRECT- Evropské informační centrum. Toto centrum se bude prezentovat prostřednictvím loga Europe Direct.
Náplň činnosti tohoto střediska, fungujícího aktivně od podzimu 2001, bude obdobná jako v předešlých letech. Pro občany bude centrum přístupné v prostorách informačního centra v podloubí olomoucké radnice. Následné poskytování informačních služeb o Evropské unii podpořila Rada města Olomouce 3.5. 2005.
Cílem činnosti bude i nadále pokrytí informovanosti v celém Olomouckém kraji, kdy navážeme na úzkou spolupráci s Olomouckým krajem a již zřízenými Městskými evropskými informačními středisky v kraji(11).
Nejbližší akcí je plánovaná beseda s Ing. Janem Březinou s názvem "Konkrétní přínosy jednoletého členství ČR v Evropské unii pro náš region". Chybět by neměla ani debata o často zmiňované Smlouvě o Ústavě pro Evropu. Beseda se uskuteční 9. 5. 2005 od 17.00 hod v zasedací místnosti olomoucké radnice.
